SERVICES

Individual Therapy

I offer individual therapy for adults ages 18 and over. My therapeutic approach is based in developmental trauma and attachment theory, exploring clients’ origin stories to learn the root cause of unhelpful patterns and limiting beliefs. I believe that examining what happened to us in our past is the key to relieving the suffering we experience in our present, and the gateway to living a fulfilling life. We each hold so much power for our own healing and my goal is to help clients develop awareness and compassion for all aspects of self, in order to live a fulfilled and authentic life.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist and I use somatic practices to help clients listen to the wisdom of their mind/body connection. I have found that using EMDR together with parts work (IFS) is transformative in helping clients process difficult experiences, address their barriers and learn to relate to themselves and others in a more open and heartfelt way.

I currently offer teletherapy for clients who live in Washington state. I accept the following insurance:

  • Regence

  • United

I also accept private pay. For all inquiries regarding private pay rates, availability, etc, please contact me via email or the contact form below.

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Mara.

I am a licensed independent clinical social work associate (LSWAIC) with a license to practice clinical social work in Washington state. I earned a graduate degree in social work from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Developing a relationship based on trust, compassion and honesty with my clients is my priority, as this will serve as the foundation of our work together. I take time to understand and empathize with my client’s perspective to the best of my ability, given each person’s unique positionality in the world. I hope to create a safe and welcoming space for clients to explore anything they wish to bring into therapy, balancing the processing of difficult moments with the joy and celebration of their success.

I find great joy in working with clients who have decided that they are ready to focus on their personal growth and have intentionally chosen therapy as a tool to help them reach their goals, open to facing the challenges that may arise.

When I'm not working, you'll find me outside hiking, gardening, riding my bike, camping, or simply absorbing all aspects of nature. Spending time with family and friends is one of my favorite things. Years ago, I was a professional baker, and still love to bake the occasional pie or loaf of sourdough.
